Elderly known as Dutch-East Indies National Football Team, Indonesia had to be considered due to their top performance in late 1960s. Under the name, they are the first Asian contender to join the World Cup when they qualified for the first time in 1938 event in France. Their best achievement was the bronze medal at 1958 Asian Games in Tokyo. The team, who currently stay at 165th rank at FIFA, now compete at 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup held in Malaysia, played as runner-up from last competition 2 years ago.
The home shirt features red-dominated hoops, attached with green stripe, a mark of Indonesian Archipelago those have a lot of green and prosperous land, quoted from former first President Soekarno.
